How do I sync my device with Fire Laps?
Newer AiM Sports WiFi-compatible device users can take advantage of Spark, our Windows-based lap downloader app. Other devices and older AiM devices without WiFi are still compatible, but require data to be exported or downloaded to your computer first before uploading the Fire Laps for analysis.
Do I need an internet connection to use Fire Laps?
Yes, our cloud-based analysis and coaching requires files to be uploaded. If your current race track doesn’t have WiFi, a cell phone hotspot can almost always do the job.
If I use an AiM, why should I use Fire Laps when I can just view data in the AiM Race Studio software?
Fire Laps makes data analysis quick and easy. For AiM users, Race Studio still shows every bit of data, but Fire Laps shows you the most useful data in an incredibly easy-to-use and visual way and lets you compare against non-AiM data to show you how to get faster the next time you’re behind the wheel.
How accurate is Fire Laps data?
Fire Laps filters and accurately displays the gathered GPS data, but cannot account for all data collection errors. You can improve the quality of your GPS data by mounting your device in a location with minimal obstructions.
Can our racing organization use Fire Laps to make sure racers are in compliance with the rules?
We make quickly comparing data between racers very simple, and we offer interfaces for event organizers to compare many sessions at once, look for anomalies, take notes on sessions, and publish leaderboards to members.
